Puzzle Ribbons

About

Puzzle Ribbons is a charity dedicated to helping autistic kids in developing countries. Families with autistic children in the U.S. have access to a multitude of doctors, programs, and support groups to learn about autism and help raise their child. However, in developing countries autism is often viewed as a social stigma. As a result, many autistic children suffer from a lack of medical attention as well as social acceptance. Puzzle Ribbons seeks to spread autism awareness to people in developing countries and to provide resources to autistic children and their families.

Raising Autism Awareness in Schools/Raising Autism Awareness in Communities

The survey I conducted last year suggested a lack of awareness in India. Therefore, I launched an initiative called RAAS/RAAC to raise awareness in schools and communities. This program has two steps: first, to evaluate how much participants already know, and second, to provide participants with information regarding how to recognize early signs of autism and how to seek guidance. After a few months, I plan to reevaluate autism awareness in these schools/communities by distributing the same survey; hopefully, the results will demonstrate an improved level of autism awareness.
